Ike saw the autobaun in germany after WW2 and brought the idea over. but idiots didn't see the reasons behind the curves and banks; they thought the germans were just being creative (HA!). Get the history of the the autobaun. the history channel did a segment on it. Very cool. The banks and curves on the autobaun isn't for show or for fun; it's actually done for safety. The already knew abot driving hypnotism so they made some slight turns to keep the driver awake. Idiot Americans just thought: "one long straight highway, what a great idea!" I80 could be a great autobaun but being that drivers in America has no respect for each other, it'll never happen.
